I've used 3/32 aircraft ply laminated with CF epoxied into a 1/8" slot.
Shape as needed to get it over the hinge line.

  cause that was back on the Jekyll and the wing was only 3/4" thick. It was
easy to get it centered on the hinge line. I think the new wing thickness is
double that so I might need a bit more reach forward.
