I've been running an OS 1.40RX for two seasons and never use castor  
oil.  However, castor oil vs synthetic oil is like religion:  you  
don't question the other's preference.

I buy CoolPower and add castor in 2 and 4 stroke fuel, to enhance the smoke 
trail. The trail is a comfort thing for me. After flying sessions, I use castor 
as after run. This combo has worked super for me, which isn't to say it's 
"THE best" or any such silly comparisons. It's a system I've taught myself and 
use religiously, and have had no problems per se. As Ron sez, one shouldn't 
question the other's preference
