[NSRCA-dist8] Another Contest

Hey Tim,
If I can do it you can do it. I made it through the fourth grade.
In all seriousness, the CD gets the sanction, organizes the contest, runs
the contest, and is responsible for reporting about the contest to the AMA.
There are a couple of hundred other little things in between but it is a fun
experience and does not have to be perfect the first time or ever for that
matter. Everyone else there knows how it is supposed to work and will help a
lot. I have been running our pattern contest for right around 16 years now
and still have fun doing it. The AMA I believe requires you to take the CD
test and co-CD one contest before they cut you loose. So I would take the
test now, then find a contest that has not gotten the sanction yet and have
them put you on as a co-contest director. Then you are all set and welcome
to the best of the best.
:-)
Dennis

The CD runs the whole contest... set up, scoring, awards, etc.

Hey Rex
What does one have to do as a CD ? If it requires nothing more than a 6th
grade education, maybe I can handle it. I live in somewhat close
proximity to the RAMS field and I have actually been thinking of joining
their club, so if I need to meet with the club membership at all I could
fairly easily do that. Let me know.

Hey Rex... Lets not forget the Cascade Field in Snohomish WA... Hands down
the best field in the PNW... IMACers use it a couple of times a year and I
would be glad to CD one there..... 3000 foot putting green runway anyone??

No, we won't be able to have a contest there this year. We are too shy on
CDs.
Neither Gordon, nor myself will be able to do it because of our schedules.
I have
been in contact with the Rams club, and have discussed putting one on the
schedule for next season... I tried to leave it open for this season, as a
possibility to
throw one together at moments notice if things change. They seem receptive
to the
idea.

Did we ever figure out whether or not the RAMS contest was going to occur
(and when)?

So far, you are the only one that suggests wanting it on the 18/19....
Next on the agenda would be to find someone that wants to CD it!
Dave Villwock says he won't be there for the 25/26... The Nats are
July 13-17... I have been approached with the possibility of some
D8 fliers going.... Hence, the 25/26 would be the best solution!
