I for one would be in favor of some general practice sessions for people
that would consider going to the Nat's. Since several times I felt like I
should be prepared and then fall apart in Indiana. Traveling to other
districts is another excellent idea also. Sometimes although we are doing
well in our distract and even when races are tight within the district it
doesn't mean that you are among the elite in other districts. Sometimes I
think our judging tends to go along the lines of this is the best I've
seen this weekend so I guess they should score well. I think that we
should try to fly and judge every contest like it was the Nat's. There are
many times we have all heard the comment it is OK here but I wouldn't do
that at the Nat's. Maybe at the winter meeting we could schedule one or
two coaching weekends if you are serious about attending the Nat's and
make them part of the flying schedule. This would be for Intermediate
though FAI. Also for the other e-mail, fly P-11 and then F-11. If someone
wants to fly FAI and not the F schedule that is up to them but the F
schedule is what counts. I am one of those trying to reinvent the way I
practice to improve in Nat's competition. JEZ
