Isn’t the bottom of a figure M always inverted? So in that case the roll has to be set based on being inverted on the bottom of the figure M.

AF21.11, 12 and 9.   Roll direction in rolling loop and corners segments optional?  Is the roll at the bottom of the Figure M need to show inverted at the bottom or optional upright?  Corners of horizontal square inside, outside or optional?  Top of trombone?  No roll directions or orientation stated in maneuver descriptions so it appears the roll directions are all optional.
