[NSRCA-discussion] Lipo - Repair/replace balance tap? Or repin?

Which end do you suspect the connection? The plugs are usually pretty solid but I have seen some of the wires work harden and fray at the cell end. These were easy enough to open the insulation, trim the wire and re-solder then re-insulate. Did this many time on the old Hobby People packs.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Lipo - Repair/replace balance tap? Or repin?

Gents,

Got a question. How often are you required to replace a balance tap due to a damaged slot or pin? I am going to replace one of the 5S battery taps, because I think there is an intermittent connection. My plan is to do a simple cut-off and solder an entire new lead. I was not planning to "repin" the balance tap itself.

Any pros/cons or advice? I haven't been paying attention over the years if this was discussed before?

Thanks,
Jim
