It is like when I had lip surgery. I asked the surgeon how soon I could play the trumpet. She said to let it heal for aobut 6 months and I should be good t oplay. I said thaty's great. 'cause I can't play trumpet now. Ba-Da-boom...

No, that would be silly! However, the pilot has to don special goggles so it looks like the airplane is under the water.

Glad to be of assistance.

Sure descriptive names like Comet and Bunt and clown dance and now Big M and eyecatcher. All really describe the maneuver :)
2/3 (or 3/4) cuban eight or reverse cuban eight wasn't catchy enough.
Sequence committee; Lets call it a goldfish.
FAI Sequence committee: No that's an American name let's call it a comet. Now thats cool!!

For those that don't know my sense of humor insert tongue in cheek emoticon :-J

Exactly.

A roll is a roll.

A loop is a loop.

A square loop with half rollS has multiple rollS just like a top hat with half rollS.

Changing the name of the maneuver would make it consistent other maneuvers and, consistent with the maneuver description.

It's been called that for 30+ years. Eliminating "Roll" in the description makes works for me.

BTW, why is Masters maneuver 17 call a “Cobra Roll” anyway? It has nothing to do with a roll. A better name might be “Cobra”.

"Loop" equals 360 degrees. Would not "roll" also equal 360 degrees?

In AMA, 2 point roll, 4 point roll, and 8 point roll all convey a full rotation with no change in direction.

Unless AMA adopts the FAI style of describing rolls, it seems a roll should be a roll?

Just looked at the maneuver description, and it doesn't specify roll direction.
