[NSRCA-discussion] Voting and ByLaws

By-Laws:  The By-Laws last revision was July 2002. Revisions were made in July 
of 2012 and published on our website for review. Since not one negative comment 
was made regarding the revisions it was my presumption that there were no 
objections to the revisions.
 
Nominations: In 2006 Lamar Blair appointed Ron Van Putte as Nominating Committee 
Chair, but I could find no further documentation on other members of the 
committee or nominations. 

In 2008 no nominations were taken nor were any ballots sent out because all four 
Executive officers opted to remain in office for a second term.
In 2010 nominations were taken, but I have no knowledge of a nominating 
committee. The President asked in several issues of the KFactor for volunteers 
to run for the various offices. 

In 2010 Ballots were sent out since the previous Executive Officers had all 
termed out.
For 2012 the Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer opted to serve a second 
term. The only Executive Office open was that of President. When Jon Carter 
volunteered to run for President I didn’t think it would be efficacious to take 
the time of a committee to fill this one position. 

Judging from the past 10 years, there is only one person nominated for each 
position. So I take personal responsibility for not appointing a committee to 
search for further nominations.
 
Resolution:
By-Laws:         We will operate under the July 2002 By-Laws.
All current members will receive a ballot to approve/reject the revisions of 
7/22/2012
Nominations:    Terry Terrenoire, NSRCA 914, of Locust Grove, VA is the Election 
Committee Chair.
                        He is looking for committee volunteers by 11/24/12.
                        He is looking for resumes for Executive Officer 
candidates by 11/28/12.
Ballots:             All current members will receive a paper ballot to be 
mailed out in November.
