[NSRCA-discussion] Proposals Survey

As President of NSRCA, ultimately the responsibility for all committees is mine.
Yes, I should have been more timely in generating a committee to submit rules
proposals to AMA sooner. I did not. That is my responsibility, not other Board
members’.

The thirteen members of the Board were listening to NSRCA members in their
respective districts. At a January Board meeting we identified 4 rules proposals
our members were discussing. Graciously, Scott McHarg volunteered to chair a
rules proposal committee. Quickly John Gayer and Jon Carter volunteered as well.
I asked Scott to find a few other NSRCA members to serve as committee members.

As Joe Lachowski pointed out there wasn’t much time to do justice to rules
proposal considerations. Scott and his committee were most impressive in how
well, how thoroughly, and how swiftly they worked.

Sadly, for Mike McGraw’s general membership survey and for Scott McHarg’s rules
proposal survey, not all members acted in an honorable fashion. This deeply
disturbs me.

Please note that all Board members are firstly just simply members of the NSRCA.
Secondly, we are all volunteers. The Board receives NO perks, at least I have
never seen one in my 6 years on the Board.

As your President, I encourage all members to voice your opinions. As your
President, however, I certainly do NOT anticipate any Board member to be exposed
to any disrespect or slander.

Lastly, let me thank all of you who honestly and sincerely respond to our
surveys. Your voice is important to us. Be confident that you are listened to
and your honesty is appreciated.
