[NSRCA-discussion] NATS

We also need the "zero's Judges" whose sole responsibility is to say whether or not they did the correct manuever, not how well they did it. Takes a huge load off the judges, who now just score the elements of the maneuver. This is especially true for the unknowns.

It was also critical in the finals for the unknowns. Makes itMUCH MUCH easier to judge the nuances of the sequences. It’s also criticalthat the judges get the unknowns the night before so they have a chance tolearn them as best they can.

Derek, 2 years ago when I was judging FAI in the F09 in the semi's you were calling the manuevers for the judges. That really helped. I suggest that we have that in place again for the first year of this new sequence it makes a big difference. At local contests we get very little exposure to the F pattern and in fact all 3 local contests that I've attended this year had the F patterns cancelled due to weather. Here in our area we've never gotten a chance to learn the new pattern and I feel I'd be at a great disadvantage. Mike

Yes, the long and the short of it. LOL

All F3A finals judges will go through a comprehensive discussion of the sequences and “things” to watch for prior to the finals.

So the short version is that if we were ok to judge at the nats last year, we’re still good for this year? I was thinking that a new FAI pattern meant new certification… (don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to not have to go through it).

Unfortunately the list on the website is not current at all - it is over a year old. I believe that list was produced about May last year. If your name is on that list then you are current for this year as well but anyone that has been certified since that time has not been added to the list.

I'll post the judging certification requirements on the website this evening... Matt Kebabjian also wrote an article which is in the June issue of the K-Factor.

As for a list... I'm working on it. :-)

What are the judging certification requirements this year? Is there a “list” to check to see if we’re good to go?
