I have a much cheaper method.  Right after turning on the Tx, I check the
ailerons and elevator movement for correctness.  Even if I have the wrong
plane selected I will at least be able to get the plane back down on the
ground with those two controls moving properly.  Throttle and rudder will
make themselves evident during taxi out.

For this tip, everyone can just drop a check, money order, or cash for
$29.95 in my field box at the next contest.  I also accept PayPal, but
please add 3% processing fee. . .
