Just so you are aware, you are 8 miles from the best hobby shop in the state of Ohio, possible one of the best in the country for RC Aircraft.  And we all hate you because you're so close.  I drive an hour to get there...many drive a lot farther.  Their inventory is scary, especially on engine parts. .

I decided to replace the two packs.
Like someone has already said...it's much cheaper than a new plane and besides...
M2 would never forgive me if I put the Sickle in because of the packs.
I went down to the hobby shop in North Canton.
Man!
What a nice place!
8 miles from the house and the best stocked shop I've ever been in.
Came home with two new 480mah 2s Pro Lite V2's.
I'll try to go out again tomorrow.

Were they Zero on the Cellpro "Fuel" scale, or Zero Voltage?  If the latter, then I'd say they're toast.   If they just read Zero on the Cellpro, (it reads 0 fuel when the cell voltage is at 3.0 or below I believe) and there is still some voltage you can probably recover them.

If they are truly at zero your Cellpro should refuse to charge them.You can probably recover the packs by putting them on a wall-wart for 15 minutes to bring them up from zero and then put them back on the Cellpro. Of course you want to do this outside on a concrete slab with no flammables in sight.
I've done this with 2s and 3s packs for small electrics. I have also done it for the redundant packs of a pattern airplane but afterwards I always matched up a recovered pack with a  fresh pack. So far I have had zero problems with the recovered packs for either reliability or capacity.
I also use Ed's system with two switches and use them to ensure that both packs are functional for each flight. Also I always remove the packs from the airplane after the flying session as part of the teardown process. You are going to remove them for charging anyway so remove them at the field and avoid the possibility of hitting a switch while putting the plane in the car.
