[NSRCA-discussion] Servo Selection - JR 821's or 4131's

Of all the advantages of digital servos, one of the biggest things I noticed
when they arrived is probably the least discussed.
Loop tracking. Every time the wing generates substantial lift (loops and
corners), the low pressure side of the wing "pulls" on the aileron, and if
both ailerons do not stay exactly centered, or deflect the exact same
amount, a roll component is introduced, and this can wreak havoc on loop
tracking. Digitals hold position extremely well, and deflect less under
load. Once I started using digital servos on the ailerons, loop trimming
became much easier.
Given the servos have the same bolt pattern, it would be easy enough to try
both.
Regards,
Dave

I meant to say 4721 for the rudder.

I'm fixing up an old Desire and don't want to invest in new servos at this
time. I have sitting new in the box, both JR 4131's and 821's. So, I'm
wondering what people's thoughts are about using old technology 4131's for
the ailerons and elevator or new, value digital 821's? I have a 4721 for the
elevator. There is enough room to mount the deeper 821's, so that isn't an
issue.
Thanks,
Mark
