[NSRCA-discussion] This email list is flawed in my opinion.

No wonder I hated my Integrals... all of them (electric) were 10lbs 12, 14, 15.95ozs. Only my glow ones were 10lbs 4 and 8ozs....lol. Just messing Carl. But we all know that flying electric will require lighter choices in equipment for the most part. I learned that in 93. Titanium anyone... my Rhapsody's had some...lol.

I wonder this, what maneuvers in any of the AMA classes 'require' the need for a biplane or anything that needs rudder power to do a KE loop or the new P-11 Fig M? Nothing. So I'm betting that IF the top Masters guys wanted to fly an 'average' 2m plane, they would do just fine. I'd be willing to try it (in Advanced)... with say a Hyde-Away (liked it better than the Hydeout). It can do all point and slow rolls just fine. But 'Big Dog' pressure gets the best of everyone (that can get their hands on a top 'FAI' design) so that's why you don't see many older style FAI planes in AMA. Focus series, BM series, InsightRC series.... any of these are more than capable, and won AMA classes, even FAI, and would be perfect in AMA.

And the flip side to all of this is that the way FAI sequences are being designed, you can not go the reverse and fly an 'AMA' plane in FAI. I think the next line of wood ARF pattern planes will do great in AMA, yet be FAI capable (with some work). Just my thinking.

Jason

I can say from experience, you won't like the way an Integral flies at 11 lbs or above.
Integrals fly best at 10 lbs 10 oz or less.

OK, so how come I got to spend about $400.00+ more to lose 4-5 ounces from my Integral? (lighter servos, replacement CF gear and wing tube, LiPo battery,)

My wife says 5K isn’t limiting MY cost.
