[NSRCA-discussion] FW: Harvest - F-Round or not?

Even though Round 4 isn't posted and a 5th flight was only flown by one of
them, I had talked with Joe and Ryan Sunday and I could barely make out what
they were saying most of the time one the phone. Either the speaker phone
was bad or they were laughing too much about all the fun they had. Should
the 4th round have counted... probably so. Would it have made a difference
in placing, not at all. Ryan would have had 3000 and AC 2893 or something
around there. When I talked to Ryan he seemed more upset, yet still laughing
about, his screwed up rev. 2 of 4pt loop (instead of the actual 4pt loop).
But it's done, over and I'm sure that CD's will make the decision to fly 4-P
and 2-F or whatever in the future at the beginning of contests. Since the
Nats will be past us soon, we shouldn't have a need for "practice rounds" at
contests anymore.

Now about those spins.......

Jason

I talked to Ryan quite a bit last night. I’m pretty sure he felt it was a
“real” round when he took off. He flew a bad loop with 4-point and left the
door open. A/C zeroed some maneuvers, caught or not, and it was after he
DNF’d the round and (allegedly) spoke to the score keeper to get it removed
(or something), than it became “Bermuda’ed” and was ghosted from the
results.

Here it is in a nutshell – True, there were only two FAI pilots so you can
say it only affected 2 people, but when you saddle up for a round of F09, or
competition in any class, you better be prepared to take your medicine.
Would this result have been posted if A/C would have finished the round and
beaten Ryan?

However mild this situation is perceived to be (only two people right?),
one of the most experienced top-competitors in our district (2006 Masters
Champion) walks away feeling cheated-out. If we are to maintain healthy
competition in all classes (including FAI) this type of stuff can’t happen
again.

  Thanks,

  Jim

We only flew 5 rounds and called it a contest on Saturday. Wouldn't have
changed the standings to do more (damm it!). FAI pilots (all two of them)
decided to make the F09 5th round practice only, as I understand it.

    Guys,

Was an F09 round flown in Harvest by both competitors? I did not see it
posted on the RCU pictures. Was this round flown and not shown?

    Thanks,

    Jim
