Jim,

I can't speak for the other contest board representatives - I can only tell
you about why I voted no on this.

My reasoning and this was based on feedback from people in my district was
that the 1st radius should not set the precedent for the rest of the
maneuver.  For example, the pilot may be rushed into pulling a very sharp
radius on the 1st radius and then would have to do all remaining radii the
same which could upset their rythm for the remainder of the maneuver which
would end up penalizing them more.  I would also like to see how this rule
works out in FAI first before deciding whether this is something that we
should adopt in the AMA classes.
