You are now deeper into the DZ than I have been, I've replaced the pump but not rebuilt one yet. I'll look at the old pump I have, the pushrods should be in the stock positions.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] 140DZ rebuild...Help!

I've completly rebuilt a YS 140DZ but I can't get the pump to work.
I've torn this thing down so many times I could rebuild it in my sleep but there are a few questions I need to ask about the pump assembly.
Which pump push rod should be longer, the upper or lower?
How should the pump plunger be installed? Open end up (towards engine head) or down.
It appears that the pump gasket openings are small and may inhibit the pump valve operation. Is this a concern?

Any help would be appreciated.
