[NSRCA-discussion] Amethyst EP Bipe

No the XXc is the Oxai model.

The Extreme Composite version was sold around the world as the Astral XX but was an early version of the model and was not sold in Japan under that name. It was the Aurea(japan market) built by Extreme composite. It was an earlier design of the model.

The XXplus was the Naruke Hobby one built in Japan. The Plus and the XXc (custom) were essentially the same flying wise. The difference was the amount of negative stab. The XXc was like -6 degs and the Plus was -8. Other than that they were the same airfoils and same model. The construction is a little different between the XXc and the Plus. Both are wood models. The Plus had the clear canopy and a balsa built up wing. Yes balsa ribs. The XXc was the Oxai version and it is a wood model with foam wings sheeted. The Oxai XXc also had a glass and painted canopy. The Oxai version is about 6-8oz lighter than the Naruke Hobby version and about 1/2 the cost. Most of this weight is the clear canopy and little doll inside.

Right now the latest Naruke design from Oxai is the Aries. It has a clear canopy like the Naruke Hobby version, and is essentially the same model. As I understand it they are not doing the extreme composite route with that model. Naruke I think was trying to serve a price break market. The cheaper Aurea was around 2K, then the Oxai was around 3K and the Naruke Hobby custom one if you can get on the list is around 5-6K. The custom hand built ones in Japan are a long lead time and very hard to get even at the high price point. They build the plane specifically for you. That is again if you can get on the list. They are pretty awesome models.

Oh, that's right... The XXc wasn't an Oxai model... I had forgotten that.
  Good info! Thanks Troy!

Oxai has never provided a choice of stab. There is one Pinnacle that was built and heavily modified for me. It had a negative tail on it. But it also had many other mods too. It was my Electric Pinnacle and it was a one of a kind. I wished it was not an electric model. I would likely be flying it still today. It was a really good model, but I didn't like it was Electric.

All 2007 and later Beryl's had the negative stab. Yes it was possible to buy the later stab and retrofit it to the older Beryl (straight stab models) but it was never an option.

All the Astral XXc models had the negative stab. You are thinking of a different model. Quality wise, construction material wise and also weight wise it was and is NOT an Oxai model, not even in the same ball park.. Not to mention it wasn't even the same plane. Different wing, stab and the fuse was also slightly different too.

I'm pretty close to the Importer of the Oxai planes into the USA and we keep up pretty close on what is available and new with the models.

The Oxai Bipes are very impressive. I have a pair of them and really like the way they fly.

Ya, I figured You'd know about it... I just hadn't seen anything on the list about it yet.
I'm already looking for my next project, and would like to see some feedback on a few
different planes before I decide the direction I'd like to go. I'm wondering if the buyer
has a choice on the stab.... like on the Beryll and Astral?
I really like the way they go together. Really simple.
Thanks Troy. I was just trying to stir the pot a little and see what pops up!

        Rex,

        what would like to know?

Bare airframe is 2400g Electric only and it will be close on the weight limit. The prototype models all made weight. With various power combos. From the Hacker c50 to the Oxai motor. Similar plug together snap together wing attachment to that of my Adventure and Euphoria Bipes. Both from Oxai. Two bolts are the only fasteners needing tools to attach the wings and "I" struts No flying wires used or needed.

Wings all glassed and painted. Like all Oxai models.

        Adjustable plug in stab

Access hatch for the batts when its all put together.

What else would you like to know?
