If you thin the epoxy with any solvent it will probably damage the foam. Use laminating epoxy. Warm it a little.
I buy syringes at a farm supply store. Their needles are too fine for  my purposes.

  Does the epoxy need to be thinned down?

  What is a good source for syringes?
