Lance, in your wing building article in the K Factor I notice you did a spar
at the aileron cut out. One question, did you or why don't you place the
leading edge of the aileron and the trailing edge of the wing cut out and go
ahead and hinge the aileron right and run the spar from tip to root? Seems
to me this would ensure a correctly hinged aileron. Thanks Tim

Anthony,
Replacing a wing, eh? I have been successful in two ways. The absolute
easiest is to drill out a short length of dowel to the right size. A
lighter version of this is to make a "super dowel" by stacking lite ply and
drilling. Having the grain cross makes it harder. Another approach is to
find a rod of the same diameter, wrap it with waxed paper and then spiral
wrap with 2-4 oz fiberglass that is occasionally dripped with CA (making a
fiberglass tube). the tube is sliced up to length.
All these ideas I have done and work well.
