It is a capacitor.

If helps by storing and releasing current when demand is high thereby
keeping the voltage up a little.  Can prevent the receiver from
"resetting" by getting to low voltage.  Not sure how effective it
actually will be.  If you are having these problems, the correct
solution would be a battery source that can provide the needed
current/voltage for your flying.
