I found a piece of 4 X 8 foot half inch thick tempered glass plate at a 
display case close out warehouse for about 100 bucks.  It is dead flat and 
you can clean any epoxy or glue that drips on it off with a scraper if you 
don't get to it with solvent until after it dries.
