His work is museum quality . . . . you should see the inside of one of his planes . . . the outside of mine should look so good.

On that note.......
I received my custom header and extension from Karl Mueller last week. In case there was any doubt...his work is exquisite, and he shipped it before I even sent him the payment.

I enjoy stories like this. Our vendors and suppliers really care for our somewhat esoteric hobby.

This is to highlight some GREAT support from two vendors that help us stay in the air -- BP Associates and Hobby Lobby International.
My 7-year old BP / Kavan starter finally gave up a few weeks ago - teardown showed the commutator on the motor's armature was worn completely away on about 35% of its surface.
Max Blose at BP responded to my email saying that he didn't have many Kavan starter parts, but that he could replace it with a Magnum unit (another winner, btw). He also let me know that Hobby Lobby sometimes has armatures available for the Kavan starters . Thanks, Max!
When I contacted Hobby Lobby their senior tech, L.A. Johnston said he nad no new Kavan armatures, but some good used ones that might work. Three days later the box was on the porch with *two* decent armatures in it, and a note asking me to cover the shipping cost if they solved my problem.
Both looked fine and the starter's working great again. So, for a couple of calls and $8.00 in shipping, we're back in business on the flight line!

THANKS, Max from BP Associates and LA Johnston from Hobby Lobby!
