I helped a friend to build the Abbra with the ZDZ 40 rear exhaust.  The total weight of the plane is 11lbs 5 oz.  I wonder what is the weight of the new ZDZ40 F3A.  My Abbra glow version was 9lbs 14oz with the OS160.  I also built an electric version of the Abbra and the weight is 10 lb 6 oz.  Clearly the gas engine penalty with the ZDZ 40 is a little over 1lb.  It will be really nice to know the weight of the new ZDZ 40 F3A.

I'm sure a lot of you know about the soon to be released ZDZ40 F3A, which will be lighter than their 40 rear exhaust.  I am not an expert and know little,but I've fielded several detailed requests to determine if the large engine will fit inside the large chin cowl of the AeroSlave Symphony.  At about 5" wide where the engine head goes, it appears to be enough for a 2.2" head, even on a soft mount.  With the finished weight of glow and electric Symphonys hovering near 10#, the extra engine weight minus the smaller fuel load seems like it could finish out about 10.5#.  

Please don't take this information the wrong way.  I'm a modeler, competitor like anyone else and I like cool things and this would be cool.

 It has a gas ZDZ 40 and the final weight is less than 4800 grams. That's pretty impressive in my opinion. The prop is a 20" Engle which would give it an electric like performance.
 Also the best part of the plane is it doesn't have stickers all over it.
