[NSRCA-discussion] Did I make a mistake - engine mount ?

A type "A" mount does not require a nose ring. That mount will be fine in
the Brio, it will just be a stiffer and offer less vibration protection than
an "AR" type mount, or any Hyde mount that requires a nose ring. It is up
to you, but I think it will be fine in the Brio. Personally I do not like
the type "A" mounts because of how stiff they are, but keep in mind that I
have all of my mounts custom made by Merle to be very loose. I let the
engine move around as much as possible without contacting the airframe. The
Brio has a large engine bay, which would allow for a lot of engine movement.
This would allow you to run a very loose engine mount, giving you maximum
vibration protection.

A type "A" mount is really designed for a plane with a removable cowl, which
is an application that you can not install a nose ring. The Type "A" mount
came out long before Merle came out with the ARI "A" mount which has the
nose ring incorporated into it. Hope this helps.
