If you go with CA hinges, make up a little jig as shown in the picture to
get all the slots even.  Once covered,  I use the jig again to cut away the
covering (that's why it's two sided with the second side a little deeper)  I
use the GP hinge machine to cut the initial slot then finish it with a #11
blade.
