Most auto supply stores have helicoil kits to do the work, a kit for a
particular thread size. Comes with coils, drill, tap, installer tool.
However, it may be best to let an automotive machine shop do the work,
as it is easy to get them in crooked, if you aren't extremely careful.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Heli coils

Hi Guys,

I have two header bolts partially stripped in a 3W 150.  The standard
bolt is 5mm.  Where is the best source for heli coils?  Also, it looks
like there is an installation tool required.  Is it better to get a
"kit" or try to get only the exact tools???  Anyway, asking for a
little education on this topic J

Thanks,

Jim W.
