Regarding shelf life...

I just got a couple of new sets of 5300's....and compared them to my
packs from last year with the micro logger (in flight data)....the packs
sat around all winter with basically no use, and very little control of
storage voltage.

The old packs perform identical to the new ones, in air performance is
not different enough tell them apart really. The packs that sat over
winter did take a few cycles to get back up to par though.

Soooo....I dont think packs sitting for a winter is all that bad for
them. It can probably be argued that 2C charging is more harmful to the
lifespan than sitting on the shelf is....but there is not enough
information to form that as a factual conclusion :)
