[NSRCA-discussion] Off line maneuvers

>From the rule book:

"One Point per 15 Degree Rule.	This basic rule provides a general guide for
downgrading deviations from defined maneuver geometry. One (1) point should
be subtracted for each approximate 15 degrees deviation. In general, lines
can and should be judged more critically than deviations in roll."

The above rule is applied to heading changes between maneuvers since every
maneuver has a straight line entry and exit. If the pilot chooses to
traditionally turn the plane by banking the wings, "S" turn as you
described, to adjust heading the 15 degree rule can be applied to both roll
(wings not level) and line deviation.

Welcome back to pattern and best of luck...

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Off line maneuvers

I am going to fly my first contest since 1985 this weekend!
Yikes!
I am in sensory overload with all the printouts, rules and internet
threads...
Can someone please answer a quick question?
If I find myself either too far in or out between a centered maneuver and
the turnaround, what will it cost me if I have to make a big "S" turn?
Thanks!
JLK
