You are right Bob, we need to develop something. Being around Scott, he thinks he can fly the electric for less money but I don't see it. I guess I will be my usual obstinate self and get one long after everyone else!
They still have a long way to go with that stuff. His motor makes a terrible sound when he goes to high on the throttle. I think the large speed controller is maybe not programmed just right. It does fly slow and easy. I flew his Titan, I think it was, and it was ok but I still like mine better. I only flew it once, I guess a few more times and maybe it would have been better.
Take care and burn fuel....
Best,
Ed

Ed,
You need to develop a glow-powered generator. The noise, smell, and oil would make the transition to electric less traumatic for some of us old-timers. You could sell two versions: OS power, or YS power. :-)

Yes indeed!, bring on your gas powered plane. You and I can park next to each other and near Scott so we can blow oil on his bird. I just can't imagine having an airplane where oil and such doesn't need to be cleaned off... Since I go back to Dennymite, Ohlsson Rice and Dooling days, I don't particularly like the electric silence, lack of smoke and a small amount of noise so I know it's running!
Come to Knoxville, we've been told we have the most scenic site in the southeast! Just think, bring your family and they can go to Gatlinburg, Dollywood and help support some of poor hillbillies!
Look forward to seeing ya'll!

Hey Scott,
So you can't participate in that pattern classic if you fly GAS POWERED PLANES.

Hello All,
While some of us still recover from the heat and wind at the NATS there is the Ben Oliver Memorial Pattern Classic August 5th & 6th 2006 in Knoxville, TN.
Please see following link www.kcrctn.com for the PDF info. Registration opens Friday afternoon.
There is camping at the field no hook-ups except electric, also electric in the pilot area's for those with electric planes.
The field is open for practice from noon and there will be a social hour starting approximately 5pm with a
informal "Mini e-Pattern" event during this time. There are two classes Novice and Expert. Novice is non-turnaround style, about 7 or 8 figures and Expert will be turnaround style, something in the 10 to 12 figure range.
Rules - has to be electric, one prop, fixed wing, 2200 mAh 3 cell LiPo limit. The pattern will be announced prior to the event.
Thank You,
Scott Anderson
