John which servos are you using to get that weight?  Also are you just using
Velcro for the battery pack mount or did you secure it a different way?

What motor are you using? Here's my setup: AXI 2204/54, APC 8x3.8 S.F., T.P.
3S 480's, Berg Micro 4 (the old one - pre Castle), Castle Phoenix 10. RTF
weight is 6.9 oz. and it's a good flier. I also fly it with T.P. 3s 730's.
more punch and duration but you can feel the weight (.5 oz!). I have the
battery mounted on the top of the fuse just ahead of the wing L.E. You can
move the C.G. back as desired but mine is pretty close to the rear limit
(60mm) and it flies OK. Needs a little push inverted, almost no pitch couple
in knife edge. I would say this is a good C.G. for pattern stuff. For "3D"
you might want to move it back some. I tend to prefer slightly nose heavy
airplanes so YMMV. I think you might be right about the Kokam 340's. They're
only good for about 6 Amps or less. Use the smallest (lightest) batteries
you can get away with though. I think the T.P. 480's weigh the same as the
Kokam 340's (thanks to Dave Lockhart for the tip!). How much does yours
weigh RTF?

I finally got the F3A flying today ( no snow, no wind, no rain). With a
Kokam 3S 340 pack I am way short of power. I'll try a 3S 500 next. Also, the
aft cg limit in the manual (60mm from LE) is still very nose heavy. What's
the best cg position for pattern?
