  Changed to TP 3S 480, APC 9x6sf and moved the cg back to 62-63mm. I now have great vertical, minimal pitch in knife edge, 10min flights. This is a great practise plane in very calm conditions. I'm at least an once heavier than John's plane but it does'nt seem to hurt performance that much. I may even learn a couple 3D manoeuvres.

I think you might be right about the Kokam 340's. They're only good for about 6 Amps or less. Use the smallest (lightest) batteries you can get away with though. I think the T.P. 480's weigh the same as the Kokam 340's (thanks to Dave Lockhart for the tip!). How much does yours weigh RTF?

  I finally got the F3A flying today ( no snow, no wind, no rain). With a Kokam 3S 340 pack I am way short of power. I'll try a 3S 500 next. Also, the aft cg limit in the manual (60mm from LE) is still very nose heavy. What's the best cg position for pattern?
