Larry I would think that you should use the foam clunk in the tank that
directly feeds the engine. The main tank feeds the feeder tank so it will be of
limited use there

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Header Tank Question????
I’m looking at using a 4oz header tank to increase my flight time. Currently
I have a 16oz tank in a Focus w/ a 140DZ. I can get through the Intermediate
Sequence and a couple additional maneuvers, but then I’m almost dry. There isn’
t enough room under the wing tube to install a 20oz tank, so a header tank
seems like the only option. Unless someone knows of a header tank with a maximum
height the same or less than a Dubro 16oz…
Question: Do I use a regular clunk in the header tank and the foam clunk in
the main tank for the YS 140DZ?
Larry
