Nothing scientific or deliberate enough to quantify a result/change in efficiency.

The flywheel effect - that is not too difficult to notice on smaller engines (at idle) when running with / without spinners.

Out of curiosity, (I know you ae a tireless experimenter) have you ever seen anything qualitative that you could pin on spinner size?  You are, of course, exactly correct with your statement below.  Also, there might ba a small flywheel effect which would increase with spinner weight, but I sure would hate to call it anything but theoretical
