Nothing scientific or deliberate enough to quantify a result/change in efficiency.
The flywheel effect - that is not too difficult to notice on smaller engines (at idle) when running with / without spinners.

Also, there might ba a small flywheel effect which would increase with spinner weight, but I sure would hate to call it anything but theoretical
