OS140RX Bearings

I have two 1.40RX and have replaced the originals after 35 in one and 125 in the other. I replaced the bearings with Bearings Limited and left the seals. I use no after run and I do run the engine dry. Cool Power 15%.
I currently have about 200 flights on one bearing and 75 on the other.

After some conversation about after run oil I don't think its good for bearings with rubber seals. Just my observation that some of the people I know running after run oil with rubber sealed bearings where having issues with the seals swelling or rubbing internally.

I think Ed is very lucky. Probably, OS run out of standard bearings and they put an FI bearing in his motor. It is evident that the common denominator is that you can not get more than 30-50 flights from the original bearing. My OS 140 RX has more than 300 flights after replacing the original bearing with SS bearing. Yes, I still run dry the motor and leave the piston in top dead center.

    Vincente,

Ed's motor is NOT the FI.. I fly with him and it's true he just runs out the fuel after the last flight and no after run or anything.. motor still smooth...

Is your OS the FI version? That could be te reason since that version comes already wint SS bearing.
