World Judge selection process

Matt:
The other issue with this is that I established a system back in my first term to use the judging evaluation system that Ron Chidgey had put forth in FAI international events. Prior to this, there was only the " it felt right" way of picking a judge for a world champs. Earl Haury was selected as a judge in the 1999 world champs using this system. However, we knew it needed improvement.
Back in 1993, Ron Van Putte was "magically" put on this list, and was informed by then-AMA President Don Lowe that he had been chosen for this duty. Ron even asked Don about how he got on the "list", but I don't think he ever really got an answer. From that point on, I was interested in how this was done. Eric asked me to be the FAI liaison for him while he was in office, and a system to pick a judge was discussed. It took several years for a team to come together that had experience with statistics and spread sheets to make it happen. Reports were made to the NSRCA board over the last 4 years as to the progress. Finally, a working system was put together, and brought to the NSRCA board this past summer and approved.

Eric, your notes below surprise me. I am disappointed you feel this way in regard to the system we came up with. Have you truly analysed the data base and the program we designed??
