Could be.I noticed that on my 140-L I can rotate the prop into a
position which for some reason will not allow the air leak when
defueling.
I never have bothered to find out why though.

air leak somewhere! gaskets....valve cover, carb, reg gasket...throttle
barrel seal...head gasket....something is leaking air. Sometimes its a
small leak and doesn't affect performance much.....but look for leaking
fuel in the engine compartment....A new set of gaskets would go a long
way...could also be a o-ring...like on the pushrod tubes, maybe a intake
tube O-ring....Usually these things are easy fixes.....but its leaking
somewhere if that reg is not sealing.

Subject: YS 140L question
Ok, for the YS Gurus out there..
I have a 140L, runs good. Fuel system has no leaks. However, when I
defuel, the pump sucks air bubbles in the fuel. If I pinch the fuel
line at the regulator, the pump primes and no more bubbles. Regulator
has a new diaphragm in it. Engine doesn't appear to leak fuel anywhere
when running. Something to worry about? What should I check? Thanks
in advance! Chuck
