Shaking Up Fuel Bottles?

    About this fuel jug shaking question.  Everybody shakes their fuel jugs or cans and may not even realize it.  What happens during transportation to and from the flying field?  The less fuel that is in the jug the more it will get mixed up, due to the increased room in the jug for the fuel to move around in.

  It was Wildcat Pro Mix 25% nitor with synthetic castor blend for rc cars. I had just used up a gallon of the same thing and bought another gallon at the same hobby store that the oringinal was purchased at and had the problem with a few hours. It acted like there was a leak in the fuel system. Since it was a new gallon of fuel I disregarded the chance that the fuel was bad but after checking the fuel system and changing engines and then changing the complete fuel system too and still having the problem I went to a different fuel bottle and all was well. So, a new gallon of fuel that was not very old at the hobby store was bad but other gallon jugs delivered at the same time were fine. Just had never heard of shaking it up..
  Another question.....Are there any drawbacks to shaking it up?  Thanks,,,Don.............

    I don't, But I've only been flying 4 years.  I got bad fuel once, so I switched brand and never happened again.  What fuel are you using?  I just pulled the gallon out of the case and fly.  :)

      Someone who has been racing rc cars for over 20 years and is a very qualified rc guy asked me this week if I had been "shaking" the gallon fuel bottles to mix the ingredients up before using. I had gotten a bad gallon of fuel that was just purchased from  a local  hobby shop and in questioning him about this is when he asked me the question. I have been doing rc for over ten years and I have never done this or have ever seen anyone doing this. Do any of you out there in "pattern land" do this? Thanks.....Don
