Think I got mixed up with my other set up!
Lets try this again.
I have both pipes. The 1090 is the 15cc quiet pipe and the
1092 is the 20cc quiet pipe. I gave you the wrong #. I am actually
running the 1090 at 20". I started at 18 1/2". The first baffle(ring) is
12" from the inlet of the pipe.
The header should not be more than 6" long measuring straight
back from center of the exhaust stack. This will put you at 18".
You will have to add a 2" spacer between the header and the pipe
to come out at 20" to the first baffle measuring straight back from
the glow plug. Sorry about the wrong info I had given you and glad
you questioned it.

Thanks, Karl.  That's what Gene Maurice told me.  I just realized that I
have the 1090 pipe.  Does that make a difference?  Mine doesn't seem to
have a first baffle, just more of a "ring", with several others space
smaller ID toward the rear.  Does this sound right?
TO get the 18", I have to cut your header...and I am SO hesitant
to take a cutter to that piece of art....but if I must, I will.
It sure has worked flawlessly.  And yes, it's the non-EFI.

18 1/2" measured straight back from glow plug to first baffle,
not high point, with the wrap-around header should be a good
starting point on the #1092 Mac's Pipe. If you're running the
160 FX and not the FI version, try a 16 1/2 x 12 APC. It has a
fairly narrow blade. I am running at 18" with this set up, but with
modified exhaust port timing.

I know this may have been covered.with a Mac's 1092 pipe, what is the
starting point with an OS 1.60?  Ed's site has some references to 18 ½"
to the first reflector ring in the pipe.  That seems quite short.
What's the experience out there?
            APC 17 x 13N, looking for mid 8's.
