It is no longer just up to Steve, or any VP to find their replacement. The new NSRCA by-laws change how a VP is selected at the end of this year. The previous system was a selection by the NSRCA president. It worked well in a smaller society but it became increasingly difficult to know who everyone was and just as difficult to unselected a VP.

The new system is much more in line with the AMA election methodology. Incumbents and potential candidates need to get themselves nominated and seconded by current members in their districts . The NSRCA has a membership database that allows ballots to be sent out per district. with your membership renewals. - just like the AMA.

If you want to keep the current VP you have, or want a new one, you as members now have an election process that you can all use.

Some of the unwritten stuff is that all candidates should have equal exposure in the K-Factor for their campaign statements etc.

A large number of you lobbied for a more open and democratic process. Well here it is.

Regards,

Eric.
