YS 140FZ Help

On my 140 FZ Sport the setting that I have are:

Highspeed Needle: 1 1/2 turns open
Low Speed: 3 turns open (still rich, but not off to much)

As I understand it, the Diaphragm gets more pressure on the seat by rotating
the regulator in, hence taking more pressure to inset fuel. By rotating the
reg in, you decrease fuel flow( higher resistance to fuel entering reg) at
a given low speed rpm. Some say it has little to do with idle below
2000,when I rotated mine in, it did improve the idle somewhat. I set mine up
at high idle of 2100. Low idle for landing is set to 1800.
I think the regulator has alot more to do with transition than anything
else. When out of the box, the FZ was poor in transition, the 1/2 turn in
made this much better.

I plan on opening my airbleed some more today to get the idle closer to
optimum. Its still a bit rich on idle.

My DZ was not near as critical as the FZ is proving to be. I think the DZ is
still very close to factory settings.

As a sidenote, my FZ continued to get better and better in idle and power as
I got more gallons through it.
