Tony,

I don't think it just the three-year cycle; it's the sum of all of the "interference" from the AMA. The 3 years, the rejection by the EC of the Annex proposal, the general attitude of "my way or the highway". I personally don't respond well that demeanor, must be the Marine background.  

Hey, I’m just a guy who does this for fun. I don’t have aspirations that exceed my meager capabilities. I won’t bail just because of the AMA or any other external influence. I’ll quit when it stops being fun. It’s just that these external influences are making it LESS fun. 

I personally argued on this list, to the AMA, and to the contest board against the three-year cycle, the current Masters schedule, and other issues. I am part of the 1% who does respond
