If a tube got tighter it is either "dirty" or possibly bent a tiny amount. Is one side tighter than the other?
You can try cleaning of any grunge. Also you can clean inside the wing with alcohol on a cotton-ball-on-a-stick.

I have the same problem in a Focus. Started out this year ok. But towards
the end of the season, it's extremely tight fit.
Any thoughts about what I should look for?
