YOU are correct sir! That would be honorable if they left it dialed down.... now with my new Mintor 1.70 I dont think I would need over 8g's to make it perform so it may be quiet enough. Just prop it right.
Didnt mean to stir anything up here.
BTW I cant go to the NATS this year so I get a whole year to make sure its quite enough. Have fun guys. wish I could be there.

Then that would draw attention to someone trying to fudge his/her equipment. If we are all honorable and amongst perfect gentlemen no big deal - RIGHT.?.

One may also have his engine dialed down some to stay at or below the noise
threshold too. So you could get varying results.

Notice the subject line change :)

Why don't you measure the RPMS at the same time you take the sound
measurement in the finals? You could get prop, rpm, noise, engine, pipe,
    fuel, combos all at once.

Ahhhh....someone that is willing to say it like it is! Thanks Ron.
I've NEVER been able to get similar rpm's from my engines even when
right out of the box from being repaired.
Same prop & fuel and on a test stand too.

It looks as though we have a volunteer!

Seriously, I agree. It would be nice to remove some of the variables,
like altitude, temperature, bad memory, BS and hidden agendas and see
just how some of these engines compare.
