Re: Focus Canopy PaintingIf you tint the canopy, it won't melt in the sun. I have been doing this for years. What I do is mix some black with clear, about 10 parts clear to 1 part black. Then I tape off the canopy, scuff it up with a Scotchbrite pad and spray on the tinted clear. Put on additional coats until you get the amount of "tint" you want. Very easy, and you could tint the clear most any color you want.

Bill,
Don't paint the canopy black unless you don't mind having it melt in the sun. If you leave it clear, the sun will "greenhouse" inside and wrinkle the floor covering, making it look awful. I tried painting my ARF canopy a pewter color. It's a light color, doesn't clash with the ARF colors, and the paint itself doesn't weigh as much as something like silver. I trimmed the canopy with white striping tape and it looks great.

Guys:
Need your opinion - how do you feel about the visibility in the air of a clear canopy vs. one that is painted black?
Thanks!
