Have you guys ever heard the country song "Here's your sign?". It advocates that stupid people should be issued a yellow sign to hang around their neck that says "I'm stupid" so they won't be sold such things as chain saws, knives, or other potentially dangerous items. Just a thought, but a darn good one. . . .

I also agree with you John. Some rules are reasonable and prudent. I have felt airlines should be mandating weighing passengers should be done all the time. Keeping the aircraft within its operational CG is not only nice it is required to insure safe flight. I often got funny looks when I would ask for people honest weight when taking them up flying to decide who could fly up front and who needed to fly in back if weight was to become and issue. Helmets for riders of motorcycles makes sense to me as I often work with and see the expense that taxpayers pickup because some want to make take measures to protect themselves. What does get me going is the convoluted way some rules/laws come to be. Reminds me of saying ammo and guns kill. So do knives and bow and arrows, cars etc. People and the anger they have kill. The tools they choose to use can't be legislated out of existence to stop people from killing.
off my little soapbox.
