remedial engine question

One of the best pieces of advice on long bearing life is to leave the damn
needle valve alone. Every contest I have been to this year I've seen people
screwing around with the damn thing trying to get the last RPM out of it or
trying to adjust for the conditions of the day because they think it is
necessary. I leave mine a tad on the rich side and leave it alone just like
I ran my YS's in the past and hopefully don't have to touch it until the end
of the season or when a bearing change is in order( In my case, just before
the Nats and the end of the season) . All it takes is one lean run to do in
the bearings. Not touching the damn thing reduces those chances.
