Bob W,

Thanks for putting on a really fun contest this last weekend. We made the
288 miles home in 4 hr 25 min, including 1 gas stop and two mountain ranges.
We cut over through Bakersfield and went over Tehachapi. Much, much less
traffic and didn't go lower than 50 climbing. There was no way I was going
to drive up the Grapvine on a hot day. In the future, I'm going to take
hwys 58 and 99 when going north. This field has zero sun problems in the
morning, and just a little sun interference in the afternoon - a really good
layout, with an abandoned crack-house adjacent to the field's entrance for
good measure. Anyone in "so-cal" should really make an attempt to get up to
at least 1 of the "nor-cal" contest. Both Sacramento and Hollister bring in
new people to meet. At the Sac. contest, some folks from Oregon even came
down.

 - Magically, in a whirlwind-cloud of dust and intrigue, a sunglass wearing
marauder, parked his flying-carpet in the judges chair on Sunday. Nice to
meet you Amir!

Thanks,

Jim W.
