Finding the SLOT

I'm the proud owner of a Webra 145X.
Ran great right out of the box.
I'm having trouble locating the slot with a screwdriver on the  HS needle
with the engine running(Hyde ARI mount).
I been having limited success using a short piece of heat shrink tubing
shrunk over the needle.
Any better ideas?....croz
