bureaucratic org/Weight Question

Hi Del,

As of now, the option is not written into the book. CDs can include
rule exceptions such as this in the contest sanction request, which
AMA considers and grants or not along with the sanction. In practice,
this proposal makes a Sportsman class weight increase an option
of the CD, without requiring an AMA decision on each case.

In either case, publishing is required in advance of the event.

  Hi Ron..
I thought that was already being done in the past as long as the CD gave advance notice of that issue and as long as they were still AMA legal the CD already had that option?.

According to the rules survey results , the question on should
the weight limit be raised received 74 Yes, 111 No, votes.

There is a proposal to add language to the effect of:
~The contest director has option of deleting weight & size limits
for Sportsman class...such deletion must be published in ...
advance...model must conform to AMA weight limits.

I fully understand that it was not submitted by NSRCA. My question was, Has anyone submitted a weight change personally? I also think it would enlightening to know, since the vote margin was close. How many votes For and Against the weight change came from each individual Class? But I don't expect that information will be made available.
